Aaron Mitchell’s Best Albums: Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa's album Future Nostalgia is easily one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years or more. Heck, it is easily in my top favorite albums of all time! I have had quite the experience with it since it's release in 2020. It became my soundtrack of the pandemic. It was released March 27th 2020, so basically right when all our lives shut down. It's upbeat tempo, catchy lyrics and infectious melodies were exactly what we needed.

I would drive around the barren streets of Wenatchee. Everything felt so quiet and empty, minus the sounds of Dua Lipa blaring from my speakers. I spent a lot of time riding my bike around the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail with my AirPods in. Dua Lipa helped keep me motivated and moving.

Concerts were non existent. My whole life I have gone to as many concerts as I could afford to attend. They were something I was missing and I assumed Dua Lipa would put on a great show. She announced she was doing a quarantine concert. A multi-dimensional virtual concert streaming online. A warehouse performance called Studio 2054. I had to watch it! She put on such and amazing show. I didn't know how a concert without an audience would be. Would the show even be any good? It blew away all expectations. 18 tracks were performed over the 70 minute show. It was the only way she could perform her amazing albums for the fans since she couldn't go on tour. It helped satisfy the craving, but reinforced that I need to see her live some day.
